Nestled, as they are in the rural village of Ham Street Kent, the school enjoys plenty of space with hard and grass playgrounds; this fabulous castellated tower is situated on a large grass playing field. The four rigid flags that sit above the ramparts carry the school logo and the castle theme is continued onto the panels of the lower decked area.
The tower arrangement requires a varied range of movements by children using it; upper and lower body movements whilst negotiating the various accesses and exits naturally employs lots of muscles and of course improves co-ordination, concentration and promotes co-operation.
Children of all ages and abilities will find something they can do and as their confidence and strength grows, they can push their own boundaries at a pace they feel comfortable with.
The school has commissioned play equipment for several areas around the school and the images showcased here depict a few elements (some of which has since been painted) enjoyed by children of different ages.
