Why outside play is important
Children love to play and schools and nurseries are great at providing facilities that help children to learn while they play. Some play is indoors but it’s when kids get outside that they really start to enjoy themselves.
For many years Plane & Simple have been creating and installing a huge range of wooden playground equipment for schools and nurseries throughout the UK and there’s nothing we like more than to discuss the needs of the school or nursery and come up with ideas that make clients think “Wow!”.
Children evolve through play and if your quest is for school playground equipment that provides a safe environment where children can learn to manage risk; that is a physically challenging, mentally stimulating, fun, enquiring, peaceful or exciting outdoor space, we would love the opportunity to talk with you and our friendly staff are here to help.
For something physically challenging have a look at Climbing Frames and Adventure Trails that will provide opportunities during playtime to burn off some of that enviable energy and can also be incorporated into structured P.E. sessions.
Towers and Forts may not guarantee the same expenditure of calories but can be tailored to offer a good combination of physical, role play, educational and quiet time opportunities. You may also like to look at our Social and Imaginative, Sounds and Sensory gardens sections to engage children in observation of the world about them through talking about what they see, hear, touch, taste and smell.
Also, curriculum learning isn’t confined to the classroom that’s inside the school building. Have a look at Outdoor Teaching or Stages where you will also see amphitheatres for some lovely ideas for group role and imaginative play as well as aiding development in communication and language. We have ideas by the truck full in Grow Your Own and Sand Play to encourage the hands-on approach to investigating mathematical understanding of volume, size and position etc.
