So, it is worth taking just a little trouble to provide the correct conditions for your Tree Seat. You will also find that a stable and firm position for the Round the Tree Seat will be more comfortable for you.
Failure to position the Tree Seat correctly will result in pressure being exerted on the joints and this will cause the seat to distort and eventually the joints and/or timbers to break.
First you need to look at your tree:
- The trunk needs to be reasonably straight
- Ideally there should not be too many roots as lots of visible/raised roots may prevent the legs from sitting firmly. You may be able to install the seat so the legs “miss” the roots.
- The area around the tree must be firm so that the legs don’t sink, thus causing distortion.
- The area around the tree must be level. It is often possible to correct minor undulations prior to positioning the seat.
All our TREE SEATS are multi-jointed and need to be installed on firm, level ground.
If necessary the ground where the leg will be positioned will need to be lightly excavated to provide a level situation.
Taking a little time now to get things right will prevent unnecessary damage and save problems occurring in the future.

Rather than commission a bespoke size seat, we recommend you locate the seat away from the tree a little.- It should fit perfectly well.
