School Gardening Equipment

We have supplied planters and all sorts of planter systems over the years but are now formalising a standard range.
There has been a lot of emphasis on getting children to understand where their food comes from, how it is grown and young children are too inquisitive not to eat vegetables they have had a hand in growing. It is a fantastic process to watch – we have received all sorts of pictures showing the various gardening projects and the children tending them.

School Gardening Shed – The Penshurst

Two built in shelves together with 1 long and 1 short tool hanging racks ensure there is plenty of storage for all sorts of equipment in this double door shed with pent roof. This shed was designed to house lots of equipment but, at only 0.57m from front to back, occupy a minimum depth. This item is supplied with ground fixings to ensure stability.

School Planters & Planter Beds

Planter Beds

A range of very sturdily built, interchangeable planter boxes that are interlocking for stability when stacked and versatility – particularly when space is at a premium. Each box is 300mm deep and as a single layer are perfect for the shallower roots of seedlings and vegetables like lettuces and tomatoes; add another layer of boxes to accommodate the deeper roots of shrubs or grow potatoes and even prize winning parsnips.

Clever, removable slatted inserts create a potting bench or seat space that doesn’t have to permanently encroach on growing space.

Greenhouses for Schools

Responsibility and care for seedlings and plants can be the beginning of a life-long interest in the nurture of nature. This can progress to interest in healthy food and eating healthily – something that would be of benefit to us all. Additionally, getting to grips with the soil and having to concentrate on tender plants is of benefit psychologically since if requires us all to slow down and offers a complete juxtaposition to the normal hurly burly of modern life.

Greenhouses for schools measure 2.5m x 3m and are supplied complete with potting benches, guttering and a water butt. Glazed window panels on three sides and a solid timber door were part of this specification.

A deck floor could be supplied as an extra option.
