CLAREMONT LANDSCAPE GARDENS, SURREY
Andrew King and Michelle Kent of the National Trust co-ordinated the discussions with Plane and Simple to interpret ideas into designs from which working drawings were prepared.
Having seen the ship themed play area at Bedgebury Forest designed and installed by Plane & Simple on behalf of The Forestry Commission, we were confident that we had found the right partners who would be able to work with us to create something stunning without compromising the noble surroundings of Claremont.
We were delighted with the commitment shown by Plane & Simple who produced proposals that needed only minor adjustment. The inclusion of subtle enhancements, like the famous Black Swans showed the sort of empathetic hand needed for this sort of project.
The installation team were fantastic, their enthusiasm undiminished by the mud and their professionalism very evident in the attention to detail they obviously take great pride in executing projects to the highest standards. Said Mr King of The National Trust
The garden, designed by Sir John Vanbrugh, Charles Bridgeman, William Kent and 'Capability' Brown nestles in the Surrey countryside and demanded something special to reflect its historical connections. We chose some of the magnificent buildings and features, scaling them down to produce the splendid representations you see, complete with two custom made springers - famous black swans swimming majestically on the moat graphic designed within the Wetpour safety surface. The seat in the centre of the amphitheatre is also a reproduction of an original on site.
We are delighted to have been involved with this historic National Trust garden and even more delighted that visitors have reacted so positively. Claremont Landscape Garden is in Esher, Surrey and open all year round.
